The light came in low and warm through the upper-floor windows. Nobody talked above their breath until the hairpin holding the veil clicked into place.
The ceremony
Stone walls, no music, twenty people. The vow exchange was loud enough that the stones heard it back.
The reception
A small band, a long table, a dog at the foot of the bride. The dance floor stayed loud past midnight.
