Ingest, smart previews on by default
Build smart previews on import. Your culling pass goes 3x faster and your laptop does not melt.
Cull, X to reject, P to pick
The whole culling pass should be two keys. X rejects, P picks. Resist using star ratings during the cull, you are not making the final selects yet.
Color, base preset plus per-scene tweaks
Apply your base preset on import. Then split the gallery into scenes (getting-ready, ceremony, reception) and color each scene as a batch. Do not touch frames individually unless white balance shifted (mixed lighting, etc.).
